This policy explains what information GCR Globe Car Rental L.L.C (“GCR”, “we”) collects when you use gcrglobe.com, why we collect it, how long we keep it and the choices you have.
Information you give us
- Booking requests: your name, phone / WhatsApp number, pick-up and return locations and dates, the car you chose, your age, whether you are a UAE resident or a tourist, and the ID and driving-licence documents you upload.
- Contact messages: your name, email address, phone number and message.
We use this information to answer you, check availability, prepare and manage your rental, and meet our legal obligations as a car rental company in the UAE.
How you use our website
When you first visit, a bar at the bottom of the page asks whether you accept cookies. Your choice decides what we record.
- If you accept: we store your IP address, your browser and device type, your website language, how you reached us (for example a search engine or social network), the pages and cars you view, the buttons you use (such as WhatsApp or Call) and how far you get in the booking form. We do not record what you type into the form here. A visitor ID and a visit ID are kept in cookies so we can tell new and returning visitors apart.
- If you decline, or have not chosen yet: we keep only anonymous counts — for example that a car page was viewed from a phone. No IP address, browser details or ID are stored.
We use this information to understand which cars and pages interest our customers, to find and fix problems on the website, and to improve our service. We do not sell it, and we do not use it for advertising profiles.
Cookies
- gcr_consent — remembers your cookie choice (12 months).
- gcr_vid — visitor ID, only after you accept (400 days, renewed when you visit).
- gcr_sid — visit ID, only after you accept (ends after 30 minutes without activity).
- googtrans — the website language you picked, set only when you choose a language other than English. The translation is provided by Google Translate.
- PHPSESSID — keeps the booking and contact forms working, for example to show your details again after an error (deleted when you close your browser).
You can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page. Choosing Decline deletes the visitor and visit cookies straight away.
Who we share information with
Our staff and the companies that host and run our website and systems. When you choose to contact us on WhatsApp, your message is handled by WhatsApp (Meta). When you open the map in the booking form, map tiles and place search come from OpenStreetMap. We share information with authorities only when UAE law requires it.
How long we keep information
Website usage information is kept indefinitely, so we can compare demand over time, unless you ask us to delete it. Booking requests and contact messages are kept as business records. Uploaded ID documents are kept only as long as needed for the rental.
Your rights
You can ask us to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you. To have your website usage data deleted, contact us and tell us your IP address or the date you visited; we will delete all usage data linked to it.
Security
Your documents and details are stored on secured systems and are only available to our staff who need them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed; important changes will ask for your cookie choice again.
