Renting a Car at Dubai Airport (DXB): Delivery and Pick-Up

02 Oct 2026 · Car Rental Guides

Having a car waiting when you land in Dubai saves time, taxi fares and the hassle of moving luggage between rides. At GCR Globe Car Rental, you can choose Dubai Airport (DXB) as your pick-up location and we deliver the car there for you. This guide explains how to request airport delivery, what to have ready, how returns work and how to make the hand-over as smooth as possible.

How airport delivery works

Instead of travelling to an office to collect your car, you select Dubai Airport as the pick-up location when you book. Delivery is free. Once your booking is confirmed, we confirm the hand-over point and time with you on WhatsApp, so you know exactly where to go after you have collected your bags.

You can see the cars available for delivery on our Dubai Airport car rental page.

How to request delivery to the airport

Using the booking form

  1. Choose a car on our site and open the booking form.
  2. Select Dubai Airport as the pick-up location.
  3. Enter your pick-up and return dates.
  4. Add your name, phone number, age and residency status.
  5. Attach two document photos.
  6. Send the request. It opens WhatsApp with your details, and our team confirms availability, the price and the hand-over arrangements.

Using WhatsApp or phone

If you prefer, message us on WhatsApp at +971 55 992 9353 with the car you want, your dates and your flight details. You can also call us on +971 55 992 9248 during office hours, Monday to Saturday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

What to have ready

Have your documents easy to reach when you land, not packed deep in a suitcase.

Tourists and visitors need:

  • A valid passport and visa.
  • Their home country driving licence.
  • An International Driving Permit (IDP), if their licence needs one.

Visitors from the GCC, US, UK, Canada, Europe and certain other countries can drive with their home country licence without an IDP. Rules can change, so check with the authority that issues your licence or ask us before you travel.

UAE residents returning from a trip need a valid Emirates ID and a valid UAE driving licence.

Picking up the car

When you reach the agreed hand-over point, take a few minutes to go through the car before you drive away. Walk around it, check for any existing marks and make sure they are noted. Ask any questions you have about the car, the mileage allowance or the return arrangements while you are together. Your daily mileage allowance is included, and extra kilometres are charged per km at a rate that depends on the car.

Returning the car

You can return the car to the same place you picked it up or to a different location. For example, you might collect the car at the airport and return it at your hotel, or collect it at your hotel and return it at the airport before your flight home. Tell us your plan when you book, and we confirm the return time and place with you on WhatsApp.

If you are returning the car at the airport before a flight, leave yourself enough time for the hand-over as well as check-in and security.

Tips for a smooth airport hand-over

  • Share your flight time and terminal on WhatsApp. It helps us plan the hand-over, and you can let us know if your arrival time changes.
  • Send your request before you travel. Booking ahead gives us time to confirm availability and arrange the delivery.
  • Allow time for paperwork. Checking documents and going over the car takes a little time, so do not plan anything tight straight after landing.
  • Keep your phone reachable. Make sure you can receive WhatsApp messages when you land, through roaming or airport Wi-Fi.
  • Arriving outside office hours? Mention it when you book and we will tell you what is possible.
  • Choose a car that fits your luggage. If you are travelling with family or large suitcases, an SUV or a 7-seater gives you more room.

Staying for a while?

If you will be in Dubai for several weeks, a monthly rental can work out much cheaper per day than daily hire, and the airport delivery works the same way. Read our guide to monthly car rental in Dubai to see how it works.
